As an aspiring Dietician, it is my hope to bring together nutrition and holistic wellness in a clear and applicable way for my clients. Through my life I have seen my loved ones struggle to find reliable nutrition care. Western medicine can often put a band aid on bigger problem. Holistic health sees both the whole person and their environmental factors. Looking at clients as a person rather than as a problem to be solved is foundational in my practice.
With my background in Dietetics, I hold a highly comprehensive scope on how deeply food, mental health, and physical health can affect a person’s quality of life. As I reflect on my own health journey, I saw firsthand the physical manifestations that iron deficiency and stress can have on a person. Low energy and anxiety attacks are crippling. In our society we are told to keep moving forward and push on even though we are stressed, overwhelmed, and anxious. After choosing to put my needs first and take charge of my nutrition and mental health I have had increased energy and have learned the tools necessary for managing my anxiety.
No matter what season of life, nutrition and lifestyle care are a priority. Food is medicine and can treat a wide variety of physical and mental ailments. I will walk with my clients until they are at a peace of comfort and peace in their diet and habits. Nutrition is a personal and each person comes with their own story. Healing past trauma with food can be challenging, but I hold a nonjudgmental space where we can step forward together and bring whole body healing.
